This weekend was my first race back since the Branson Nationals in October of 2010, it sure felt good to be back at the races! This was an Area Loretta Lynn qualifier for the South Central Region at 3 Palms MX Park in Conroe, Texas. Overall the race went very well for us; we were able to qualify in all of my classes for the South Central Regional that will be held in June, at Thunder Valley MX Track, Lakewood Colorado. There was some pretty tough competition at this race so it was a good judge for pace. We feel like we know exactly the areas that we need to improve on for the upcoming races. Special thanks to my Dad and coach Jon Johnson for making all of this possible! We will be moving into the Freestone Spring Championship race a week from today! Check back for more updates.
We practiced today at 3 palms mx park. I felt really smooth and solid on the bike especially for just driving for 18 hours! The track facility was really cool. There were several different tracks, a pretty big lake with jet skis, and we rode under the lights today. This weekend will be my first Loretta Lynn area qualifier so its a pretty important race. The goal will be to place in the top 8 overall in my 3 classes. Starts are going to be really important this weekend because the track is pretty easy and fast! Not too much to separate the riders out. I am thanking God everyday for everything, my incredible family for all of their support, and my sponsors. Check back for more updates from Texas, ONLY
Chris Johnson is preparing for his first big races of the 2011 season! He is heading to Texas the end of February. The first race he will compete in is a Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier at Three Palms MX. In March, he will compete in the Freestone Spring National and the GNC Motocross Final at Oak Hill Raceway. These races are two of seven big Amateur Nationals. Chris is planning on doing very well at all three events!
